Serpa’s Action Plan for Environment and the Climate Change
A broader strategy for sustainability and energy efficiency, able to enhance job creation, economic competitiveness and greater energy independence
The Serpa’s Action Plan for Environment and Climate Change, made by IPI Consulting Network Portugal, had the following outputs: first, the energy mix, followed by the carbon balance and, finally, the guidelines of the climate action plan. Furthermore, it will allow the fulfillment of the obligations of the Convenient of Mayors.
The town’s energy mix has provided a broader perspective of energy flows. The carbon balance monitored the main greenhouse gases, classifying them according to the emission sources and their importance in the context of climate change. Finally, the guidelines of the climate action plan will provide guidance in order to reduce and optimize energy consumption in the county and reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
The Serpa’s Action Plan for the Environment and Climate Change will allow:
- reduce the magnitude of emissions;
- promote energy efficiency and rational use of energy resources;
- enhance and unlock the potential to: (i) create skilled and stable jobs, not subject to delocalisation; (ii) promote a healthier environment and quality of life; (iii) increase the economic competitiveness and greater energy independence.
