IPI Consulting Network Portugal Awarded Civil Government of Castelo Branco contract to study the District’s Third-Sector, in particular the Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS)
Civil Government of Castelo Branco has awarded IPI Consulting Network Portugal a contract to study the District’s third-sector and shed light on third sector organizations that currently exist, as well as to provide recommendations for how nonprofits can be most effective as vehicles of future social change, to become self-sustaining and create jobs while generating revenue.
The objectives of the study, “Social Economy - A response to the crisis in the district of Castelo Branco”, were presented by the District’s Civil Governor, Alzira Serrasqueiro and Carlos Medeiros, IPI Consulting Network Portugal’s President and the study's coordinator, on 18 May of 2010, at the Seat of Civil Government, before the region’s IPSS representatives.
The resulting work will give policy makers and charity organizations a new framework for understanding the Third Sector: its role in society, and its relationships with government, the market, and the citizens of the region.
